It was new to me too, Doug and Patrick. But in the annual Hepburn Springs
Swiss Italian Festa parade (the village was settled by Swiss Italians in
the 19th century) young local circus performers, mostly girls on quite high
stilts, marched along with the brass band and others. ‘Sprung’ was just the
name of their circus which performed in the afternoon but thinking now, I
suppose the name plays mineral springs, for which the area is renowned.
I did not know her, Doug. The ‘Ah’ was to indicate that I now could see the
reason for her agitation.(you try bending down to pick up anything from the
ground on stilts!)
