The School of Computer Science and Statistics in Trinity College Dublin is now inviting applications for a fully-funded 4 year PhD Scholarship in the Department of Statistics in collaboration with Dr Mimi Zhang, in the broad area of data mining or operations research. The scholarship will be for 4 years. No closing dates apply, but there are only two registration periods (September and March). Applicants are advised to apply as early as possible. The scholarship will pay for the tuition fees of the candidate and provide an additional stipendiary allowance of €16,000 per year. In addition, financial support will be provided towards the student’s conference travel.
Candidate description: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, operations research, data analytics, computer science, or related subjects is required. The candidate is expected to have a sound theoretical and practical knowledge on statistics/data mining/operations research, as well as strengths in programming.
