I am very excited to announce our two Keynote speakers for the 2018 PSI Conference, being held on the 3 - 6th June 2018 in Amsterdam. This year we wanted to focus our Keynote speakers on the future of Healthcare and the impact this will have on our roles as Statisticians in the years to come.
Dr. Kohli (Medical Doctor, Healthcare Advisor, Global Speaker, Researcher, Author) will open the conference speaking on the Future of Healthcare: Trends, Opportunities & Challenges.
Abstract : In the coming future, healthcare will face a big pressure due to the changing demographics of the world. In this talk Dr. Kohli will highlight the current challenges in the healthcare delivery system and share learnings from global experiences in the current healthcare system. She will also share opportunities, new developments and the impact new implementations will have for the future.
As technology improves every day, new developments are constantly changing the dynamics of the healthcare sector. Can the healthcare sector keep pace? And how are the Netherlands and Europe are dealing with the changes?
Dr. Ruberg (Distinguished Research Fellow, Enterprise Data and Analytics, Global Statistical Sciences, Eli Lilly & Company) will start day two, with his talk titled, Statistics and Data Science: Is Six the Same As a Half-Dozen?
Abstract: The world is exploding with data, and the application of ‘analytics’ is growing at a commensurate rate. The question remains: “Are we using the right data and are we applying smart analytics?” This talk will explore statistics versus data science and highlight how statisticians in the pharmaceutical industry can reinvent themselves to play a much broader role in their companies than the historical role in clinical development or R&D. It will also the value of statistics beyond data science, and encourage statisticians as well as our profession to insure we communicate our value appropriately.
