Assistant Professor of Statistics, University of Michigan
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Michigan-Dearborn invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2018.
The standard teaching load is 18 credit hours per year; occasional late afternoon or evening teaching is expected. To allow more time for advancing their research programs, Assistant Professors receive released time for a total of 9 credit hours (normally 3 courses) to be used during the first 3 years of the 6-year probationary period. Promotion and tenure is based upon a candidate’s performance in teaching, research and service.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science or a related field by the starting date of the position. In addition, excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and an active scholarly agenda are expected. A positive attribute is an interest in involving students in research projects.
