Dear Siv
http://blog.westminster.ac.uk/chineseposters/blog/its-new-year-come-say-hi-to-the-chinese-door-gods/
Take this poster of Chinese door gods as an example, you could plan lessons around physical appearances, colours, clothing, an imaginative conversations between them linking to what the pupils have learned and so on. You could also even talk about jobs relating to the story of two generals protecting Li Shiming (Tang Taizong) mentioned in the text. The advantage of using the resources adapted from the posters is that you can integrate the culture/history with language learning in a seamless way.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Xiaoming

Does anybody have any practical lesson ideas for what to do with all these lovely posters?

Cassie wrote a blog about the collection, and her responses to it, which can be read at http://blog.westminster.ac.uk/chineseposters/blog. As her background and studies are in filmmaking, Cassie also made a short film about the collection. This can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jg35qHOy3AQ&t=88s.
