Oh come on Adrian -- I'm sure you don't really believe that Gideon had
anything to do with the writing or editing of that minor story! He's far
more interested in finding copy aimed at turning the heat up against,
and rubbishing, the Brexiteers he left behind. Besides, the story
carried the byline of the Standard's Court Reporter, one Tristan Kirk,
who contrary to the copy desk editor's headline layout actually started
his story quoting the woman's tax fraud (and money laundering) before
the benefit fraud.
But for different reasons, I agree he's a nasty piece of work.

The boss has been found guilty of fraudulently claiming £37,000 in benefits - and also ‘dodged £212,000 in tax’. So Osborne headlines benefit fraud but not the six times greater tax fraud. The ex-Chancellor of the Exchequer hasn’t changed his political construction of policy, has he?
