3 year PhD Studentship - “Cystic Fibrosis in an Ageing Population”
National Heart & Lung Institute-Imperial College London
This project will use data from the UK cystic fibrosis registry linked to hospital episode data and data from the Office of National Statistics. People with CF in the UK are surviving longer with increasing co-morbidities such as cancer, CF- related diabetes and osteoporosis. Understanding the pattern of disease progression within this aging population and the resource utilisation associated with these co-morbidities is limited and this studentship will be used to explore health care utilisation data (including GP attendances and hospital admissions) in the aging CF population.
The studentship will be funded for 3 years with a tax free bursary of £22,278 per annum. Tuition fees at the Home/EU rate will also be paid.
