Manuel,
I've published several papers that included both a whole-brain
analysis and a single ROI analysis, where that ROI was chosen prior to
the study.
This of course is counted as two comparisons, but even strict
statisticians will often allow 2 or 3 comparisions without requiring a
correction for multiple comparisons.
