Hi All,
This is just a heads up for anyone working direclty with the public around subjects related to biodiversity, ecology and zoology in science communication settings.
This is an Open Platform event, hosted by the Reading Room at Wellcome Collection in London.
I'm a research student at the Royal College of Art and on Friday, 22nd September I will be delivering a workshop based around my research outcomes. These are two sets of thinking tools / games which are designed to facilitate multispecies story telling and conversations. Partcipation and using the tools are intended to encourage an empathetic position in relation to issues of extinction rate increase and global biodiversity decline as a result of human activity.
I'm compariing the difference between curiosity, wonder and empathy as enablers which result in actual change.
The workshop is from 2-3pm for memebers of the public and anyone from the science communication community welcome.
I will also be hosting an informal session that morning. This will be an opporutnity to discuss / try the tools from 11 - 1pm that day.
Let me know if you have any questions or want further clarification and let me know if you intend to come.
Many thanks in advance
Stephen
