Hi Sam,
If you're a member of a teaching union (ie the NUT), you can get some good discounts on PLI.
https://www.teachers.org.uk/
By being a member of the union, they can help with legal expenses and you are able to get PLI insurance through the Alan Boswell group:
https://www.alanboswell.com/business/business-insurance/trade-industry/teachers-insurance/
Hope that helps,
Russell

Subject: [PSCI-COM] Any advice? Public liability insurance for science performers
Dear all,
I hope you are enjoying your weekends!
I am looking to pick up some PLI to cover science performances. I am finding that this is increasingly being requested by venues/establishments and is just great to have in a vacuum.
I'm sure several members of the list must have run into this issue before, so I was wondering if they could suggest any providers/plans which they have found cover them well and which they would recommend.
My current performances include dry ice explosions and rockets. However, it's always fun to branch out into other hazardous materials/scenarios ;)
I've done some Google shopping around, but it's difficult to separate one policy from another.
Any advice would be very gratefully received!
Sam :)
