Subject: New GCSE Teacher Training in Trinity School
Dear All,
On Thursday, 2nd of October, Trinity school is holding a Teacher Training Event which focuses on new GCSE Chinese exam preparation. We are pleased to have invited Anne Martin, the AQA GCSE Chair of Examiners and an extremely experienced classroom practitioner. We are also pleased to have a presentation from the AQA Head of Curriculum for Languages, Judith Rowland-Jones, who will take you through the new AQA GCSE Chinese specification in detail.
The morning session will cover all four papers, focusing on the requirements of the examination, how to prepare students for the different skills as well as the support and resources available from AQA. There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions and to ensure a really good understanding of the new exams.
In addition, Anne Martin will talk about useful teaching strategies to ensure students succeed in the new speaking and writing components. This part of the session will include looking at some exemplar marked work.
In the afternoon, the teachers in Trinity will be running a rather intimate discussion panel, sharing tips on assessment and progression from GCSE to Higher level and a specific structure of teaching Pre-U History and Cultural papers.
The number of places is limited, so if you are interested in participating in the event please fill in the booking form and send back to me via [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Once we confirm the attendance, we will send out the further details.
Looking forward to seeing many of you.
Many thanks.
Regards,
Peishu Lin
