Hi Wendy
Thank you so much for this feedback Wendy! It's really appreciated.
The BPS Community Psychology Section committee and many volunteers from Bristol UWE including a range of students - were responsible for much of the organising of the festival. Most notably Miltos and Amelia (Amelia until recently an undergraduate) - and so I will pass on this message as it will mean a lot to them and the rest of the committee.
We're really getting into the swing of these festivals now as an alternative to a conference - this was our third. We hope to influence the BPS and wider to take on some of the participatory and inclusive aspects of it (beating academic 'stuffiness' as one festival participant out it!) whilst keeping the informative and educational components. Also we really tried to keep the festival cheap and free for community members and using community venues (not Hilton Hotels!) - this is something else we want them to do! Ha!
All feedback and comments welcome (to me directly if appropriate) - we want to keep learning from participants. Also next time we are trying to create even more bursaries for free entry plus cover some people's travel expenses.
If anyone is interested in hosting the festival in their area or getting involved - please get in touch!
Thanks again Wendy - I'm sorry I didn't see you there to catch up!
Best wishes
Sally (Chair BPS Comm Psy Section)
