The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is a professional membership body and cultural institution driving excellence in architecture.
The Institute houses The British Architectural Library, home to the RIBA's four-million-strong collection of architectural drawings, photographs, manuscripts, books, models and associated artefacts. It is one of the oldest, largest and richest collections of its kind anywhere in the world.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative and customer-focused individual to work as a Cataloguer in the Systems & Services team within the Library.
The cataloguer is principally based at 66 Portland Place, London which houses the Library Reading Room along with our book, journal and photograph collections.
Responsible for the full original cataloguing and classification of the RIBA Library's collection of books and multimedia materials, and for other collections items as required, you will be experienced in the use of AACR2, RDA and MARC cataloguing and subject-based thesauri and authority control protocols.
You will also contribute to the delivery of public services through rostered work on the Library Enquiry Desk answering a wide range of enquiries from RIBA members, researchers and the general public.
Candidates must be available, on a rostered basis, to work on Tuesday evening and Saturday morning duties.
