As circulated last week, the CARISCC Research Network's touring exhibition – "Negotiating Caribbean In/Securities through Creativity“ – will be displayed in London (Deptford Lounge, Giffin Street, London SE8 4RH, 5-7 September 2017), Leeds (Union 105/East Street Arts, 23-27 October 2017) and Birmingham (MAC Birmingham, 5 May-10 June 2018).
For any Caribbean Studies Jiscmail list members based in the London region, the first of these venues at the Deptford Lounge will be showing the exhibition in their ground floor Meeting Rooms 1&2 (adjacent to the public library area) at 9 Giffin Street, just off Deptford High Street, from Tuesday 5th September through to Thursday 7th September.
A launch event and drinks reception will take place from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday evening (5th Sept.) to formally open the exhibition, during which Dr Patricia Noxolo (CARISCC’s lead researcher) will give a short presentation about the Network’s research outputs to date, in addition to sharing further insights about the contributing artists and their featured works.
If you are joining us this week, the nearest public transport to get to Deptford Lounge is Deptford Rail Station (1-minute walk) or Deptford Bridge DLR Station on the Docklands Light Railway (5-minute walk).
Following the launch reception on Tuesday evening, the artworks will remain on view until the evening of Thursday 7th September (FREE entry).
