Civil Service Fast Stream | £28k, UK-wide
Apply your analytical talent to tackle some of the biggest issues affecting society.
The Civil Service is a place where talented people do brilliant things. We support the government of the day to implement its policies and deliver the public services that we all rely on. And our award-winning Fast Stream graduate programme develops individuals from all kinds of backgrounds, to be our leaders of the future.
We’re looking for visionaries. People with the imagination to see things not just as they are, but how they could be. Creative thinkers who can flex and adapt to a limitless range of situations. Innovative people who want to be challenged. Those with the intellect and the emotional intelligence to motivate and inspire.
Whoever you are, whatever your talent, the Fast Stream is the fastest route to real leadership.
On this 4-year scheme, you’ll use your statistical expertise to influence social and economic activity at regional, national and international levels. No other organisation can claim to be involved in the same breadth of work that the Civil Service will offer you. You could be producing the analysis that underpins the budget, or a ministerial briefing on schools results. Or you could be analysing the UK’s energy consumption and contribution to climate change. Whatever you’re involved in you’ll gain experience of working in a number of government departments, as well as a secondment with an external organisation.
To apply, you’ll need to be eligible to work in the UK. You’ll also need a 2:1 Honours degree in a subject containing formal statistical training, such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Sciences, Psychology, Geography or similar. Alternatively, you could have a Higher Degree, such as an MSc or PhD in a subject containing formal statistical training.
