The entire matlab error message was as posted:
Error in spm_peb_ppi (line 241)
Sess = SPM.Sess(xY(1).Sess);
Error while evaluating UIControl Callback
This message occurred regardless of whether I manually entered the information into text boxes after clicking on the PPI button from the main menu (in which case it appeared after I specified the VOI), or whether I ran the PPI module from a batch file. These ran fine with the same types of files in SPM8, but only if the original analysis and VOI files (from the Eigenvariate menu) had been carried out in SPM8. So maybe there's something different about how SPM12 creates VOI files from the Eigenvariate menu?
But this doesn't seem to make sense, as the above error seems to involve the step where the conditions from the design matrix are specified. Perhaps there's something from the design matrix file in SPM12 that's not recognized by this command. If so, this might be a matlab issue, since SPM12 requires later versions of matlab than SPM8.
