I used to say, I was told, things like "x is very good at what they do;
it's just that I don't like it much"....
(I probably said it too many times)
Maybe Larkin is of that ilk.
When I were a young man, he was often referred to as part of a rambling
response for not being open to many poetry ideas...
But if people are learning, fine. I do though associate his repulsive
attitudes and the restrictive use that has been made of him by others...
Not everyone continues learning
