The Population Health & Occupational Disease group at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, seeks a Medical Statistician as a Research Assistant or Research Associate (depending on the applicant’s qualifications) to work on the H2020 EU-funded Aging Lungs in European Cohorts (ALEC) project. ALEC will generate a risk prediction score for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease using life course and cross-sectional data from several large epidemiological studies in Europe and Australia.
You will contribute mainly to the development of the prediction model within a Bayesian framework, through harmonisation and integration of information on outcomes and exposures from contributing studies.
You should have either an MSc (Research Assistant) or a PhD (Research Associate) in medical statistics or related fields, ideally with expertise in the application of Bayesian methods. The post requires regular communication with 10 research centres in Europe and elsewhere therefore it is critical that the candidates can demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills.
