From the query below, it looks like the maps sought don't technically
need to be public domain, but creative commons or similar license that
allow commercial use without payment are probably okay. Please send any
replies direct to Dr Benferhat or the Classicists list. (Or I can

may I ask wether someone would know where to find maps of the Roman
world free of copyright in order to use them in a book ? I'm sorry for
asking, but I can't find anymore the links which were given here and
there sometimes. I would need a map of :
- Italian coast between Antium and Capri
- Germany with its rivers
- Euphrate
- North Italy around Placentia
- Britain and its rivers
I think it could be nice for readers to have directly in the book some
maps concerning the places which are mentionned.
