As many photographers who own Bowens equipment will have heard the company has, by all accounts, gone into liquidation.
This leaves many of us in a quandary about what to do when it come to spares and repairs. I had put an order in a couple of months ago to Calumet to get some spares, only to (eventually) be told the order could not be fulfilled.
I am consequently on the look out for Bowens equipment, particularly QuadX 3000 heads and spares. If anyone has anything that they no longer need/use and would like to sell it please contact me.
It may be that others in the same situation would like to swap or exchange gear so that both parties end up with usable sets of equipment. Being a museum photographic department means that the chances of getting funding to replace
all our studio flash is pretty remote and I am sure others are in the same situation.
Also, if anyone can recommend a place to get Bowens equipment repaired I would appreciate it.
David Gowers,
Ashmolean Museum.
