Apologies for cross-posting.
Dear Colleagues,
The International Council on Archives New Professionals Programme is launching two new series on Facebook aimed at meeting the needs of new professionals and to give all archives and records management professionals the opportunity to participate and network on the ICA New Professionals page. Please see below:
------------------------------------------------------
‘Archival new professionals from around the world.’
New Professionals, this is your chance to share with the world, who you are, what you do, why it is important or why you love doing it!
The results from the ICA New Professional survey we ran last year showed that people who are employed in archives and recordkeeping professions have very diverse job roles, titles, training and education and that we all have something to learn from one another. It also showed that not many people know about the opportunities out there, including what jobs to look for, so what better way to find out than by hearing what other new professional colleagues are doing?
We would love to hear your story!
We are looking for people to share who you are, what you do, why it is important or why you love doing it. The first post that was put up is available here if you want to have look - https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1940755992804662&id=1594390744107857

‘Advice I wish I had…’
From experienced archival professionals to new professionals – where experienced professionals will share what they wish they knew when they started out in their archival or recordkeeping career.
Share what you wish you knew when you started out in your archival or recordkeeping career with current students and new professionals! The results from the ICA New Professional survey we ran last year showed that new professionals are often not aware of the opportunities available to them and that many are interested in receiving guidance from experienced professionals. We invite you to participate by sharing a piece of advice that you wish you’d known earlier and tell us how it has helped you.
We want to learn from you!
To contribute to either series, please email responses to Nicola Laurent at: [log in to unmask] Include a photo (if you would like), your name and any contact information you are happy for us to share (e.g. twitter handle). It can be as short as you want, we suggest about 250 words, and we welcome entries written in any language. We will be publishing contributions on our Facebook page and promoting them through our Twitter account and newsletter.
Thank you,
Nicola
