Dear Allstat,
There are a few days left to submit an application for a PhD scholarship at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca (deadline August 9th at 3pm CEST). The Program that is most relevant for those reading this email is the “Systems Science” Program, which is home to the "Economics, Networks and Business Analytics" Track. This curriculum provides participants with a solid knowledge on modern analytical methods in economics and management. With its multidisciplinary approach, the curriculum is unique in its deployment of a strong integration of concepts, analytical foundations, and practical expertise, to educate the new generation of economists, scientists and practitioners with distinctive capabilities in analyzing, interpreting, and managing complex socio-economic systems. Graduates will be trained to become researchers and decision makers in academia, policy and industry by integrating knowledge at the boundary of Economics, Statistical Physics, Computer and Social Sciences with the unifying language of Mathematics and Statistics.
All admitted students receive a monthly scholarship for all three years of the program (appx. €1100/month), free room and board in IMT's beautiful campus in the heart of Lucca (Tuscany), and additional research funds in accordance with their advisor. Students do not pay tuition nor do they have any teaching responsibilities.
It is a truly wonderful opportunity for students wishing to pursue a PhD in economics, network science, analytics and related fields. Applications must be submitted by the deadline of August 9th 3pm CEST via the online form. Although we are very close to the deadline, the application form is simple and can be completed quickly provided that candidates have scans of their undergraduate certificates (diploma and transcript) and an updated CV. Candidates are also asked to provide a brief research statement and the name of two referees.
