Hi Peter and David
Thanks for socialising the NHVR heavy vehicle chart with our group. I hope our international colleagues find this document relevant and interesting.
When designing this chart, our dilemma was to produce an accurate summary of the Australian Heavy Vehicle fleet while making this document as user-friendly as possible which is why I decided to focus on our most popular combinations. The title of the document 'Common Heavy Freight
Vehicle Configurations' reflects this decision. We could have added heavy passenger vehicles and PBS vehicles too but the chart would have definitely exceeded the 40 vehicle mark if we did so.
Interestingly, when we started to work on this chart, we received some mixed feedback. Some people were unsure about the purpose of this document. Since its release, our customers/stakeholders' feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. This goes to show that one of our key role is education which helps transport operators comply with our regulation in return.
Kind regards
Matthew Bereni
