Dear colleagues
The link to the webinar recording for Revel Digital’s Independent Voices: “crowdfunding” for open access digital collections is now available here<https://youtu.be/WumirxyHcdY>.
The webinar explains how you can gain early access to Independent Voices, a collection of 20th C alternative press from the US and Canada, through Jisc Collections<https://www.jisc-collections.ac.uk/Catalogue/Overview/index/2586> until 31 July 2017, and in so doing support additional digitisation in the UK. 50% of UK contributions will go towards supporting digitisation of UK material to add to Independent Voices and the contributing libraries will provide strategic oversight for content selection and digitisation.
The webinar provides background on Reveal Digital’s “library crowdfunding” cost-recovery-open access model and discusses how the collection is being used in research at the University of Manchester.
Best wishes
Paola
