Dear colleague
Apologies for any cross-posting.
SPARC Europe is interested to see how authors can better manage their
journal article rights and in this context, we would like to know what use
the research community is making of the SPARC Author Addendum
<https://sparcopen.org/our-work/author-rights/>. Other initiatives exist,
however, we are interested in seeing if this is still being used and to
what effect.
The addendum was developed to help authors retain some of their rights
before signing them away to journal publishers in cases where the
institution does not retain those rights.
In short, SPARC Europe would like to explore if, or to what extent, the
SPARC Author Addendum is still being used by authors in Europe and how
publishers are responding, and we are asking for your help.
We’d like to invite you to share any evidence you have that relates to
SPARC Author Addendum usage by answering 5 short questions
<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HQGVSNM>
Many thanks for your support; sharing your experience will give us a
clearer picture of how this resource is being used.
To this end, we’d very much appreciate your feedback by the end of August.
If you are not the person who can help here, please forward this on to your
copyright or OA adviser. We’d also very much appreciate you circulating
this in your networks as well.
The more feedback on this, the more it can help influence what we do with
it.
Best regards,
Vanessa Proudman and David Ball
