Hi all,
Now that it’s about a month before the GSA deadline (August 1), I encourage you to submit an abstract to the petrochronology session at GSA:
T163. Petrochronology: Advances and Applications to Petrogenesis and Tectonics
(Matt Kohn, Pierre Lanari, Martin Engi)
This session welcomes advances in understanding petrogenesis, orogenesis, and/or crustal growth made using combined petrologic and geochronologic analysis of accessory and major minerals. Contributions could include analytical methods and studies ranging from (sub)grains to orogens
This is a follow-on to the Petrochronology short course, Oct 20-21, in Seattle just before GSA.
Not going to GSA? The Santa Barbara group is convening a petrochronology session at AGU [free advertising for them]:
V024 New Quantitative Approaches to Petrochronology.
If you’re not going to *either* of those meetings, well I guess you’re out of luck this year.
Petrochronologically speaking.
Best,
Matt
