We wish to appoint an excellent researcher and teacher to join our internationally-recognised dynamic School of Geography, Geology and the Environment. You will be primarily expected to undertake teaching, tutoring and academic administration activities across the Human Geography programmes. You will hold a high quality undergraduate degree in Geography as well as a PhD in, or in a subject closely related to, Human Geography as well as experience of teaching small and large groups of geography students.
Initially (in the first year) typical subject areas will include: Histories and Philosophies of Human Geography; Social and Cultural Geographies; Environment, Nature and Society; and Postcolonial Perspectives in/of Africa. You will also be expected to contribute to tutorials, methods skills, a field course and dissertation supervision. You will support the work of the School, including through outreach and recruitment activities in developing and enhancing its reputation, both internal and external to the University. There will be opportunity to undertake some research, ideally through engagement with researchers in Critical and Creative Geographies.
