Mixed Reality (MR) can bridge the gap between physical world and
virtual world for improved learning. Existing studies suggest that MR
can offer positive support for rehabilitation and education in
general. The available PhD scholarships will support candidates to
conduct an iterative user-centered research which emphasises direct
contacts with deaf/hard-of-hearing children and professional
stakeholders. It consists of four iterative cycles of requirements
analysis, designing, developing and testing MR technologies based on
existing MR applications to facilitate social communication and
learning for target children. This project aims to improve the
usability of MR applications hence to better support target children
in their education and rehabilitation.
Application deadline: 14th July, 2017.
