Subject: IMPORTANT: attn PERSONAL MEMBERS
Good morning, colleagues,
This is an important message addressed to *individual members of ARLIS*.
Invoices for all members current from 2016 were sent from this email
address ([log in to unmask]) on 4th December 2016. We will shortly
follow up on invoices that remain unpaid.
Here’s where you can help:
· *If you have not yet renewed your membership but intend to do so*,
please do so as soon as convenient (or confirm your intention to do so).
· *If you expected to receive an invoice but did not*, please check
the *junk folders of your various email accounts*. (NB: The address to
which your invoice was sent might not necessarily be the address to which
you're subscribed to ARLIS-link.) Coming from a gmail account and
accompanied by three attachments, our message might very well have been
unceremoniously dumped there. Again, you can help tremendously by making
payment against that invoice as quickly as possible or signalling your
intention to do so.
· *If you inadvertently did not receive an invoice but wish to
continue your membership*, please get in touch.
· *If you were a member in 2016 but do not wish to continue your
membership, *do please let us know, for our records. We would also welcome
the reason for your decision, but will not harangue, harass, fold, spindle
or mutilate you for your decision (incomprehensible as it might be). We
thank you sincerely for your past participation and will welcome your
return should this ever prove the correct choice for you.
For *anyone else who is not yet a member of ARLIS, or who has unwittingly
let her membership lapse*, do please take this opportunity to join us!
Being a librarian or an archivist is great. Art is great. Being an art
librarian or archivist is clearly the best of all possible worlds.
A robust personal membership is essential to the Society, allowing us to
continue programming events providing essential training
<http://www.arlis.net/events>, to organise visits to peerless collections,
to put on this year’s exciting Dublin conference
<http://www.arlis.net/events/conference>, and to offer support
<http://www.arlis.net/awards> to professionals and students to advance
their careers or research interests. Equally importantly, personal
membership in ARLIS demonstrates your commitment to your profession, and as
ARLIS moves ahead as an entirely volunteer-run organisation, there are many
ways to get involved and help make the Society work for you.
(We welcome non librarians and people who don’t like art, too: everyone is
welcome).
You can learn more about joining ARLIS by pointing a browser here
<http://www.arlis.net/join>. Or just ask anyone in the know.
Thank you for your time, and have a good weekend.
