Apologies for cross-posting
Very grateful if people could circulate the following information about a lectureship post at Newcastle:
Closing date: 16 July 2017
We seek to appoint a sociologist to make a distinctive contribution to one of our areas of research strength (Identities, Embodiments and Selves; Imagining Pasts and Futures; and Power, Inequalities and Citizenship). We particularly encourage applications from candidates working in areas of race and ethnicity and/or social class. Our research depth is evident in our REF 2014 result (13th in the Sociology Panel). Our research activity sits alongside a strong teaching portfolio, evident in our consistent performance in the National Student Survey.
The successful candidate will be experienced as a teacher at undergraduate level and be ready to contribute to the administration and further development of the subject area. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the research activity of Sociology.
Informal enquiries can be made to the Head of Sociology, Professor Janice McLaughlin, [log in to unmask], tel 0191 208 7511
The post is available onwards from September 2017.
