APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING

We are currently offering a bursary of £3000 per year and a full fee waiver for someone to do a full time PhD at the University of Hudderfield, please see https://www.hud.ac.uk/courses/2017-18/postgraduate-research/search:bursaries/

We would welcome applicants who would like to do an original study on and Intersex-related topic. This could be, for example, any of the following:
- A cross national comparison of Intersex activism and rights issues
- Developing notions of Intersex citizenship, perhaps in a specific area such as reproductive rights
- Work around Intersex social policy
- Developing appropriate health care provision around intersex - for example support for families affected by Intersex
- Exploring issues around possible alliances between Intersex and LGBT activists
- Looking at the life narratives of Intersex people and those with Variations of Sex Characteristics

This PhD would be related to an ongoing project https://www.hud.ac.uk/research/researchcentres/criss/projects/intersex-dsd_human_rights/ - this is a collaborative project and we are working with several Intersex-led organisations to deliver it.

We would particularly welcome applicants with personal experience of Intersex. You would need to have, or be about to achieve, first-class honours in your Bachelor’s degree or a distinction in your Master’s degree. You must be eligible to register for the PhD either in September 2017 or January 2018. You must be highly motivated to contribute positively to the development of Intersex and Variations of Sex Characteristics Studies.
