Interdisciplinarity is pivotal in the development of the academy for many reasons, some of which form the conceptual framework of the Centre for Culture and Disability Studies. Although far from straightforward in practice, the thinking behind this conference is that interdisciplinarity leads to curricular reform that itself leads to changes in social attitudes – or more specifically, that appreciation of disability studies within the various academic fields and disciplines ultimately contributes to the erosion of ableism and disablism in culture and society.
The conference is set to host more than 80 presentations including the above keynotes and plenary panels, as well as an array of focused panels.
Various delegate rates and packages are available via the online store until 24 June 2017.
