Your proposal fails to address what you state in those paragraphs,
namely, you say that programmers "end up with verbose expressions"
but your proposal is many tmes more verbose than the current facilties.
BTW, you can aso use the suffix E and D to indicate default and double precision.
And not every constant needs a suffix, especially integer constants
(including those that can be used in floating-point expressions).
