Friends & Volunteers: Introduction to Fundraising Support Manchester - RESCHEDULED
10.15am - 3.15pm, 18th August 2017, Manchester Central Library
Due to a rail strike on Tuesday 30th May 2017 the Fundraising for Archives workshop for Friends and volunteers has been rescheduled for 18th August 2017 and you can register to attend here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/friends-volunteers-introduction-to-fundraising-support-tickets-33426831553
Taking place at the beautiful Manchester Central Library, this is a chance for Friends and volunteers from different services to come together, share their experiences and hear about fundraising best practice from peers who have been successful at generating income for their archive. You will also have an opportunity to see some of the treasures held by Archives+.
This session has a key focus on advocating for your archive service including a practical workshop on building a case for support and a discussion forum for attendees to share ideas, experience and challenges.
The day will also feature case studies from:
* Cumbria Archive Service- highlighting the financial and stakeholder support that Friends of Cumbria Archive Service provide and specific project collaboration between the archive and Friends
* Wigan & Leigh Archives- sharing how volunteers perform the vital role of advocate for the archive service
* Lancashire Archives- discussing how they recruited Friends group members with new skills and ensured their governance was fit for the future
The workshop will take place on 18th August 2017 from 10.15am-3.15pm at Manchester Central Library with lunch and refreshments provided, and all places on the workshop are fully-funded by the HLF Fundraising for Archives programme.
All are welcome to attend- so please do encourage your Friends and volunteers to register for a place. A representative from your archive service is also welcome to come along. Its essential to let us know in advance if you'd like to come so please register for your free place either on Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/friends-volunteers-introduction-to-fundraising-support-tickets-33426831553) or by emailing [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
