Hi all,
I thought this might be of interest to group members.
The Scottish government, building on the recommendations of the Making Maths Count working group, has announced it will be running the inaugural Maths Week Scotland from September 11 to 17. I've been asked to join in the fun on a freelance basis as the voice of public engagement. It's very much an experiment this year and we're keen to learn from others and share our experiences as we go along.
We have a website, www.gov.scot/mathsweek if anyone would like to read more - it's a little embryonic for now, but will grow over the coming weeks. We also have a pretty active twitter from @MathsScot and will even be dipping our toes into Instagram with @mathsweekscot :) If anyone would like to take part, share ideas, give us inspiration, ask questions or anything else please do get in touch either here or through Twitter for now - I don't think our email is up and running yet, it's that new and shiny.
People from all parts of the UK, EU and the world at large are all most welcome!
All the best,
Ali
