A general fMRI analysis question.
If using a-priori defined regions-of-interest for fMRI analysis, does one always have to apply multiple comparison correction according to the number of selected ROIs? I can't now find the reference, but I remember reading somewhere that if the ROIs are chosen before the study (for example, anatomical hypothesis), then this is not absolutely necessary.
It definitely seems to be the case that not every paper reporting results of an ROI analysis adjusts the threshold according to the number of ROIs.
I would be grateful to hear your comment on this issue.
Best wishes
