We are on our 4th new build in 7 years, in each case we have found it difficult to find anyone in the architect's team or with the building contractor to speak with who has any understanding of network infrastructure at all, they seem to think its beneath them. If anyone has found an answer please share!

This is often a problem.... Sometimes Architects need to be reminded who the Customer is. The tricky bit is then getting to sit around the table where it can be discussed, and getting around it early enough to effect necessary changes.
