FULL-TIME POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW FOR FMRI RESEARCH ON CONCEPTUAL
PROCESSING

At Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (Germany) there is an opening
for a postdoctoral research fellow position in a project on accessing
concepts in language production and comprehension.
The ideal applicant is highly motivated and creative and is capable of
working both independently as well as in a team. The applicant should
have experience with fMRI, a solid background in Cognitive
Neuroscience, and experience in the field of language processing. A
high proficiency in German and/or Dutch is desirable.
The main duties and responsibilities include:
* Research design, data collection, data analysis and publication of
fMRI experiments
on conceptual processing in language production and comprehension.
* Transferring and sharing fMRI analysis skills with other team members
* Teaching two Bachelor/Master courses per semester on the
neurocognition of language at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf
The postdoctoral position is in the Department of Linguistics of
Düsseldorf University. The postdoctoral researcher will closely
collaborate with projects A04 and C03 (PI Prof. Peter Indefrey) of the
Collaborative Research Center (Sonderforschungsbereich) 991 The
Structure of Representations in Language, Cognition, and Science
(http://www.sfb991.uni-duesseldorf.de/) funded by the DFG.
The fMRI research will be conducted at the Donders Centre for
Cognitive Neuroimaging (DCCN) in Nijmegen, about 1.5 hrs from
Düsseldorf. The DCCN provides an outstanding research infrastructure
for cognitive neuroimaging with three research-dedicated MRI scanners,
MEG, EEG, and TMS facilities.
