What is interesting about this discussion is there is always a focus on schedule 5 substances, and OA, but there is increasing awareness of COPD linked to work place exposures - irritants rather than Sensitisers. The HSE does actually flag the risks from dusts and fumes etc as well. I'm increasingly of the view that a questionnaire annually for a wider range of roles is the best policy. This also enables preventive health promotion to take place such as smoking cessation with is a confounder in aspects of occupational COPD.
