Hi Oli,
we've been having issues with the latest release of Bsoft for local resolution estimation. Try using version 1.9.0
Also, normalize your mrc half maps before running blocres (and make sure the pixel size is in the header):
bimg -data float -rescale 0,1 half1.mrc half1.norm.mrc
Here's an example command we would use:
blocres -box 20 -maxres 3 -Mask mask.mrc -edge 1 -verbose 10 half1.norm.mrc half2.norm.mrc blocres.mrc

The output image it writes out is always empty, and I can’t even get to that point if I don’t first convert the Relion _unfil.mrc half maps to IMAGIC format using bimg. Does anyone have some tips? I’d like to use the blocres local resolution map as input to blocfilt to filter my map by local resolution.
