Dear colleagues,
I have recently learned from my students studying Chinese at BLCU in Beijing that one of their friends (also an international student, from Thailand) was badly beaten up by Russian male students in Semester 1. They also state that this is a regular issue on campus, and that campus authorities have taken no action to address the violence or punish the perpetrators of the incident.
I am writing to ask whether anyone on this list has students studying at BLCU, and/or whether anyone has heard about this type of violence on campus, particularly in relation to Russian students?
I am currently considering what action to take, and so would be very interested to hear from you.
With thanks and best wishes
