Cheers Theo,
Good topic.
With my moderator hat on, community people do feel free to contribute any thoughts on how an enterprise CMS uses any type of API layer that abstracts underlying services and assets- e.g.
- Handling authentication and sign on as a service
- Accessing digital assets
- Location services
- Anything else that might spark off thoughts that help

Subject: Experience of using microservices
As I write this message I suspect it will become a very broad and open question with few details, but here goes :-)
I wanted to ask if there is anyone on the mailing list who has experience of using a microservice architecture, in particular with a large number of applications, one (or many) of those being a Content Management System. Ideally I'd be interested to know how an enterprise CMS (similar to ours - we use Adobe AEM v6.1) has been used within this architecture, but any insight into any kind of CMS will I'm sure be helpful.
My main aim at this stage is just to have some brains to pick - this is very much a topic of research for me at the moment and I am at the quite early stages - so I wanted to try and use the Power of the Mailing List (tm) to help with this!
Thanks in advance,
Theo
