Hi David,
We've seen the same problem running RELION over NX - everything looks fine except the file browsers are scrambled.
The problem seems to be an issue with the combination of FLTK and NX in particular: running FLTK's own 'fluid' program over NX shows the same problem, while RELION and fluid both look fine using X forwarding over SSH.
I haven't investigated any further, but I wonder if it might be possible to fix the problem using the right combination of FLTK compilation or configuration options?

Subject: [ccpem] RELION/FLTK under NX
Hi all,
We are predominantly using NX (https://www.nomachine.com/) for handing graphical applications on our cluster. This works well for RELION. Unfortunately NX scrambles the file browser windows, making it almost impossible to locate files. The file browser displays normally on a Mac running XQuartz (https://www.xquartz.org/), and it displays normally for a Windows box running FastX (http://www.starnet.com/xwin32kb/fastx-desktop-client/).
Has anyone else seen this problem with NX? Does this have to do with FLTK? I tried modifying the RELION make scripts to use a later version of FLTK (1.3.4-1), but the problem perists.
