For anyone who is thinking about registering for the Annual Meeting for Teachers of Medical Statistics, this is to let you know that the registration deadline has now been extended to 29 May 2017. The final timetable for this meeting is now available via the Burwalls web site (link above).
Speakers at this year's meeting include Dr. Ellie Hothersall (University of Dundee) talking about the new UK Medical Licencing Assessment, Professor Michael Dewey (Institute of Psychiatry) with a historical perspective on meta-analyses and Dr. Peter Tennant (University of Leeds) who will try and encourage those in our discipline to engage more with social media. The central theme of this year's conference is diversity in Undergraduate medical curriculums across the UK and if Undergraduate curriculums change how our statistics teaching should change with it.
The social program will include a conference dinner on the Evening of Tuesday 27 June. Further details of the conference and how to register can be found on the Burwalls web site.

Burwalls is a relatively small conference usually with 1 or 2 delegates per institution on the topic of teaching of statistics to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in medicine and nursing as well as to health care professionals. It takes its name (Burwalls) from the venue in Bristol where the conference was regularly held until 2008. The conference this year will be held at the University of Nottingham on the picturesque University Park Campus. The campus is regarded as one of the most attractive in the country and is the only University campus to be a Civic Trust Green Flag Award winner every year since 2003.
