Dear Cedric -- There are all kinds of old books containing drawings of
bones. You don't specify what views you need, but you might begin by
looking for works by William Berryman Scott; Henry Fairfield Osborn
(especially good for elephants); William King Gregory; Alfred Sherwood
Romer; Edward Drinker Cope; Othniel C. Marsh; Horace W. Hayes. Not to
mention Sisson & Grossmann's "Anatomy of the Domestic Animals" featuring
plates from Ellenberger & Baum's earlier work entitled "Anatomie fur
Kunstlers". Most of these are so old they're long out of copyright and
many are available as free downloads online.
One especially valuable place for old paleontological and anatomical books
is the library of the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
As to "vector graphics": once you take the trouble to scan the image into
your computer yourself (or else upload it), you can make it into a vector
graphic in photoshop simply by engaging the "layer" function and then
copying the image onto a new layer.
Alternatively -- you could always hire a scientific illustrator and that
way, assuming you have a comparative collection to work from, you can get
any bone in any view you want. You're the boss! Cheers -- Dr. Deb
