Job Title: Research Uptake and Analysis Advisor
Hours: 40 hours per week
Reports to: Research Coordinator
Location: London
Duration: Permanent
Salary:  £ 40,667.54

JOB PURPOSE

The role involves developing and implementing strategies, systems and processes to improve the dissemination and impact of MSF research, a research communication strategy and system, in line with the MSF UK and MSF Operational Centre Amsterdam (OCA) strategic plans. The Research Uptake and Analysis Advisor will lead analysis of MSF UK and OCA research impact, develop research management and impact tools, along with supportive communications materials to engage an audience of key global health opinion setters with MSF research issues.

PERSON SPECIFICATION –

Knowledge, skills and expertise

Essential
• Proven experience in research uptake strategy and analysis.
• Proven experience of engaging research communities in global health and development sectors.
• Experience of working in a research setting or of evidence-based practice.
• Evidence of strategic level thinking and leadership.
• Entrepreneurial ability to find opportunities to engage with audiences, see where research is relevant to them, translate and communicate research in an accessible way.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with track record demonstrating experience in communicating research content to different audiences.
• Solid understanding of global health/biomedical research.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven experience of communicating effectively with staff at all levels across different countries, cultures and time zones.
• Demonstrable experience of optimising use of social media.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of database management.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Strong organisational skills with experience of managing multiple tasks and working under very tight deadlines.
• Demonstrable understanding of and commitment to humanitarian issues and to the aims and values of MSF.


Desirable:
• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in a global health/biomedical subject.
• Scientific journal editorial or communication experience.
• Previous experience of conducting research/analyses using quantitative and/or qualitative methods.
• Knowledge and understanding of content management systems and email marketing systems.
• Experience of organising/marketing scientific conferences.
• Project management experience including managing software development/technology projects
• Relevant experience of working with organisations in low-resource settings.
• Spoken and written French.
