Friends & Volunteers: Introduction to Fundraising Support - Manchester
10.20am - 3.15pm, 30th May 2017, Manchester Central Library
New speakers have been added to the programme of the Fundraising for Archives workshop for Friends Group members and volunteers.
This event will include:
* Cumbria Archive Service and Friends of Cumbria Archive Service sharing their collaborative working
* Lancashire Archives and the Friends of Lancashire Archives discussing how they recruited Friends group members with new skills and ensured their governance was fit for the future
* Wigan & Leigh Archives sharing how volunteers perform the vital role of advocate for their service
* An introduction to Charity Commission guidance for governance of Friends groups by Brabners
* A practical workshop on advocating for your archive service
* A discussion forum to share your experiences, challenges and ideas with fellow Friends and volunteers around advocacy and fundraising
* An opportunity to speak with the Fundraising for Archives team about what fundraising support and training is available to Friends and volunteers
Following the success of the Fundraising for Archives event for Friends and volunteers in December 2016, we are now responding to demand and offering this new opportunity for Friends and Volunteers from across the archive sector to attend a workshop on fundraising in Manchester.
This is a chance for Friends and volunteers from different services to come together, share their experiences and hear about fundraising best practice from peers who have been successful at generating income for their archive.
This is an action-packed day with lunch and refreshments provided, and all places on the workshop are fully-funded by the HLF Fundraising for Archives programme.
Please do encourage your volunteers and Friends to come along as all are welcome and it's a fantastic day with a great buzz. A representative from the archive service itself is very welcome to attend alongside their Friends and/or volunteers.
If Friends and/or volunteers would like to join us then its essential to let us know in advance so please email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> to reserve places or sign up via The National Archives website here http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sector/training-and-events/
Kindest regards,
