Symposium Summary:
The interface between anthropology and education is very fertile ground for innovation and discovery of new approaches. This may be evident in many different educational settings: universities, schools, colleges, adult education, and extra-curricular clubs. For this symposium we invite all those who may be interested in sharing the possibilities offered by introducing anthropology into these diverse environments, or who would like to learn more about the benefits of doing so. Possible areas of interest include the exploration of our common humanity, tolerance, and understanding diversity and, more pragmatically, introducing students to the study of subjects such as ritual or comparative ethics which are at the heart of the humanities, but which they may otherwise not have the chance to learn. Papers are most welcome from those who would wish to reflect on the future of this interaction, or would like to share their existing experiences.
