Hello everybody,
As mentioned in yesterday's Ops meeting, there is a new yearly drive to
check the information in the gocdb - which is good to know seeing as the
gocdb is likely becoming the de facto place to get resource information
from.
The UK has a ticket about this, which you can feel free to put your
tuppence worth into:
https://ggus.eu/index.php?mode=ticket_info&ticket_id=127588
But to make life easier we conjured up one of the wiki tables you all
love filling in to provide a summary of each site's "review status":
https://www.gridpp.ac.uk/wiki/2017_GOCDB_REVIEW
To keep it easy there's only 3 columns to fill in, and two of those can
be filled with an affirmative, the other is optional. The things to
check are the contact details for the site (people, email and telephone
numbers) and the endpoint information for the site resources (CEs and
whatnot). As Jeremy mentioned there is likely a good amount of stale
contact information from people who have left gridpp still being
registered at sites. Their contributions might live on with us, but
their gocdb roles shouldn't. Similarly with that CE you might have run 5
years ago but never deleted from the gocdb. Let it go.
To be clear, in this instance the verb "check" means "to look at and fix
any errors", rather then just look!
If sites could look at this as soon as possible that would be great - we
will likely review this in Tuesday's Ops meeting. As always feel free to
chime in with any questions if anything is unclear.
Thanks in advance all!
Matt
