This is an opportunity to ensure the smooth running of MICRA, the Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research on Ageing. MICRA is the focal point for ageing research at the University of Manchester, a virtual research institute operating across all faculties and based in School of Social Sciences.
You will be responsible for working with the MICRA Directors in the development and delivery of the Institute’s strategy to establish the University as the leading UK interdisciplinary centre for research on ageing, and one of the leading centres in the world.
You will have excellent written communication skills, with extensive experience of managing and instigating all aspects of marketing and communications activities.
You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, significant experience of building successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to create opportunities consistent with MICRA’s goals.
You will have the ability to manage projects, to think strategically and set objectives and priorities, including the planning and use of resources to support the development and implementation of the business plan.
You must have a proactive, enthusiastic, customer-focused and results-oriented approach.
The post is available full-time from 22 May 2017 to 18 May 2018 to cover the secondment of the current Institute Manager.
